The USB Mini Female socket needs to have a more snug fit if one is to charge the battery and/or use an external power source for powering up the camera. USB Mini Male plugs that insert into the female socket on this adapter has too much "wiggle" which may lead eventually to a bad connection for both USB power and data transfer. Otherwise, it works fine. Hence, why I can only give it a four star rating. I ordered two of these replacements so I have a redundant adapter in case the other one fails or gets damaged from normal use.

I misplaced the original USB B male Port to microphone cable. This replacement cable has come at the perfect time. The video camera I purchased this cable for has been a true BLESSING in the media ministry at our church. It is a backup for our online camera however it is also made obtaining video for uploads possible. The quality of the video produced rivals that of much higher priced cameras.
